Pretty Darn Good

This really has added a lot, I like the medals feature. The gameplay hasn't changed much at all (for better or for worse, I like it just fine.) The only complaint I had is on the at I still had from last time - that you sometimes get a huge wave of them, which you can't even touch because of the seekers, and then sometimes you have a long period with no enemies. But I guess that's what comes out of random spawning.

I've liked the story *mode* so far (only at level 2,) but so far the level challenges are fun, but I think the story is really corny =(

Anyways, It's been pretty fun so far, and I do think the medals idea was really good, I'm going to have to try to get them all =o

Awesome

Like Douglas before me, I had a glitch where the screen went to the background color with the cahracters on it, but once I left the map it fixed itself. I also had a few glitches, but they all fixed themselves. It's actually amazing that there are so few glitches in such a large game that you made yourself.

I miss old style RPGs, and this one was quite a treat. Bonuses are always lots of fun. I have never played Final Fantasy (always been a dragon warrior fan,) but the equipment skill system seems pretty unique to me. I like your little commentaries and jokes about RPGs and other things do, those crack me up. I also love how many small little details there are, like the grass tiles changing when you walk on them, and the encyclopedia...wow, you must have put a lot of time into that.

Now I'm just going to be picky =P I would've liked a little more detail in a few areas though, like Mardek's mom saying something different after you saved her from zombies, and people in general changing what they say. Also, by the end regular physical attacks became incredibly weak... Mardek with the mace was doing 30 against zombies whereas Emela was doing 150+ against them. I understand that there should be some difference because she is using mp, but at this rate Mardek will become useless. But then, I guess I'm also just not used to the main character being a support character...

Also, another personal preference... I don't really like the whole switching out characters thing (I myself only have four but I can see that there will be more, plus I heard that the mercenary could join the party.) I would just as soon stick with three or four characters that were a little more versatile, or else basically choose four characters early on and stick with them.

Anyways, I haven't quite finished it (though I'm on the ship) but I look forward to the next one. In fact, I'm almost worried that it won't be quite as good. A lot of things that were included in this one were from the last one, but eventually the file size will be too big to include it all. Anyways, loved it, and honestly if you put together a full size rpg, I'd think about buying it =)

Um...

There are a lot of these that have been made in the past that are formatted better, have twice as much information, and don't say "I'm not sure" anywhere on it.

Well, pretty good

Just a quick heaads up. After beating Normal mode, it says something like "you beat proffessional mode!" so you might want to fix that.

I thought it was pretty good, but I actually thought it was a little too easy. The lag wasn't a problem for me. More songs would be nice. Other than what I just mentioned, there wasn't really anything wrong with it, but it doesn't particularly stand out either. It's still pretty fun. Good luck!

Repetetive

This is pretty fun for a little while, but it never gets any harder. The pizza should gradually gain speed, or the chimney should widen out, or anything that makes it more difficult over time.

Also, I personally think that the music gets really annoying really fast

And, I'm sorry, but the whole idea of....if I bake a pizza well, I'll get some random hot chick is a bit rediculous.

One more thing, the high score submit doesn't seem to work, might want to look into that, unless it's just me.

!!!

Very nice one. I really like everything about this, the story, the winning pictures, the music, even just the layout is fairly easy to use. The onlysuggestions I have are -
0It's kind of annoying when you hit play, but then accidently highlight another option and have to keep hitting play again.
-I also think that you should have various other combos involving fast-slow attack combos (fast-fast-heavy should end in a different attack)
- Some of the story modes should have challenge-type conditions.
But really, I had to seriously think about those, so you've got a really great game here.

I've been just reading through some of the reviews, and here are my opinions of what others have said:

-I don't think bitey should be included in any sequel. I don't think he'd really care about winning over newgrounds. He's definetly pretty evil, but I don't really think he'd actually kill anything unless he had to. And furthermore, I think that Adam Phillips has worked really hard to create his own world for Bitey outside of newgrounds - pulling him into an arena and making him fight would kind of ruin that. Anyone else though, I'm fine with.
- Lots of people say that there are some overpowered characters, but they can't seem to agree which ones are. Alien Hominid, P-bot, Samurai, Pico, and even Nene seem to be "overpowered." I admit that I have a harder time with some of them, but I think you did a pretty darn good job making them relatively even, and a little bit of variation isn't bad. I think playing style is what is really throwing it off balance (Mostly button-mashing, no doubt.)

Wow!

Really well done.

The Game engine is awesome, totally unique. The graphics could be better, but thier not bad, either. Nice music, except that if you didn't catch your...mind clone thing in time, the music would stop a while before the scene did. Could've used a save feature, but didn't necessarily need it.
The only thing I didn't like was that honestly, there was lack of action. All the levels consisted of jumping around, getting points, and avoiding enemies. Didn't really take any skill or much interaction. A nice time waster, but you could do better. The first "boss" consisted of pretty much the same thing, except instead of avoiding the enemy, you had to try to run into it. The puzzles at the end of the second section were way too easy. The only real fun action was trying to catch up in the final race. Again, good for a time waster, but you could cram a lot more in.
The Story was a little confusing and slow to start, but the end was excellent :)
Anyways, I'd like to see more of this. Nice Job.

A good start

Well, this isn't bad for your first. But there's no reason to have any rooms with no purpose AND no interactvity. People love extra stuff that you can click on. It doesn't matter if it's just flushing the toilet, or clicking on the couch to look for change under it, people like that.

There were virtually no puzzles other than finding the right thing out of a bunch of notes.

Needs a better story. With puzzles that are actually RELEVANT to the story.

Graphics need work and practice.

Also, this isn't really worth mentioning, but it's not actually a text adventure. Text adventures are when you actually type your actions in. This is just an adventure game. That happens to have text in it. Like most adventure games.

No doubt this was great learning, but now put a couple months into thinking of good puzzles, working on your graphics, etc.

kitty-and-meander responds:

Alright, you bring up some good points that I will consider and do. Thanks for the great review!

It's good but...

It's good, but why did you even put this up? This is a downstep from the third one, why would you post the beta after the complete version since it doesn't have anything additional except a change of color?

TheCleverOne responds:

I thought id put this somewhere as a placement of my achevements, and so can delete the origenal off my comp

Pretty Generic...

It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special. Since it's a game BASED on music, you should probably have the sound turned on by default. Also, what was with the guitar shooting...bubbles or whatever those were. It should have been better drawn if they were supposed to be sound waves

No powerups, no dynamic enemies, no obstacles...This makes it a pretty generic, dull game.
Maybe you're just learning, but keep doing so...
